Voidokilia Beach has the shape of the Greek letter omega.

To the south of the beach stood the city of Pylos where numerous findings were excavated dating back from 4000 BC.

Nestor’s Cave

Above the beach is Nestor’s Cave and above this are the ruins of the 13th-century Frankish castle.

Homer’s Odyssey

The sheltered bay is referred to in Homer’s Odyssey and archaeologists believe it was used by King Nestor as a port in ancient times.
