The fountain is located in Place Saint-Michel in the 6th arrondissement in Paris.

The Decoration of Saint-Michel Fountain

The columns are made of red marble.

In the center of the fountain is Saint Michael killing the devil.

There are four bronze statues on the top of the columns each one representing a virtue:

  • Justice – The statue with a scale and sword
  • Prudence – The statue that holds a serpent and a mirror
  • Fortitude – The statue that holds a lion’s skin and club
  • Temperance – The statue holding the skirt

There are two winged dragons on each side of the fountain.
