Hamburg Christmas Market is spread across many sites: the largest is on Rathausmarkt in front of historic City Hall.

A special Christmas market takes place each year on the first Advent weekend. From Friday till Sunday, Hamburg’s oldest Christmas market since 1919 opens its doors in the historic crypt and the St. Michaelis church community hall. Opening hours: Friday 3 pm – 7 pm, Saturday and Sunday 11 am – 7 pm.
Hamburg’s city center is the only one in Germany situated on the shores of a lake, the Alster. The Outer Alster, the larger part of the lake at 160 hectares, is a paradise for sailors and rowers.
