History of Dimitrie Ghica Park
Dimitrie Ghica Park was founded in 1881
In the park, there is a beautiful artesian fountain, a museum, a tourist information center, a confectionery, Sinaia Casino, Palace Hotel, Regal Hotel and Caraiman Hotel, and also a pancake shop.
Busts, century-old trees and a festival
Along the alleys, busts of writers and historians were placed, including Mihai Eminescu, Ion Creanga, Dimitrie Ghica, and Nicolae Balcescu.
Here are found several species of century-old trees, spruce, chestnut, and beech.
Numerous concerts take place on the stage set up in the park during the summer weekends. In September, the Autumn Festival “Sinaia Forever” takes place here, the biggest event in the city.
The artesian fountain in Dimitrie Ghica Park, Sinaia was constructed at the same time as Caraiman Hotel. During the Sinaia Forever Festival, the fountain is emptied of water and ready to host thousands of spectators who come to attend the light music concerts organized in the park.
